No PA · no account · two minutes

Hear feedback before it takes over the room.

Start with one real listening decision: hear the ring, name the band, and choose the safe first move. Then build feedback, gain, monitor, room, system, and show-call judgment in a daily path.

This route grows into

  • A soundcheck sequence that survives a 15-minute window
  • Feedback recognition fast enough to catch it before the room does
  • Monitor mixes that keep the band playing in tune
  • What to do when there was no soundcheck at all

Current shipped inventory

Train the decision before showtime.

A visible route from audible clue to bounded move, backed by the catalog and cards the school can actually serve.

51 show-day drills

Feedback identification, EQ triage, gain before feedback, monitor mixes, console calls, rooms, systems, and crew decisions. Browser audio where the rep needs sound; scenario work where it needs judgment.

346 live-sound cards

Spaced-repetition knowledge for signal flow, stage setup, venue acoustics, monitor mixing, system tuning, safety boundaries, and show workflow.

One daily route

A short Listen → Decide → Apply session drawn from your current belt. Free accounts receive the full daily route within their daily limits.

9 belts with a real horizon

Early belts focus on the next gig. Later belts introduce measurement, system design, RF, changeovers, broadcast, and stadium decisions without pretending a screen replaces supervised field work.

The repeatable method

Listen → Decide → Apply

Step 1

Hear the signal

Start with the audible clue, not a menu of tools. Compare at a useful level and locate what changed.

Step 2

Make the call

Name the failure, choose one bounded move, and understand what that move cannot fix.

Step 3

Prove the move

Recheck the signal, bank the weak spot, and let the next session revisit what still needs work.

The rest of the Studio system

Your plan also covers the two disciplines that share the show with you: the mix that gets recorded and the lights that follow it.

Also write and perform? The Everything plan adds the Artist system: Vocals, Songwriting, and Repertoire, on the same account and the same belt path.

What the screen can, and cannot, teach

Do I need a real PA system?

Not for the in-app training: listening drills run in headphones, and many calls are practiced as console or show-day scenarios. Console muscle memory, room acoustics, physical setup, and band communication still require real reps. Use Main Act between gigs so those gigs teach you faster.

I'm a studio engineer. Is this for me?

If you also run sound at gigs, open mics, rehearsals, houses of worship, theater, or festivals, yes. Live Sound focuses on reinforcement and time-critical decisions; Studio Mix focuses on recorded work.

How is this different from Studio Mix?

The belt language and daily rhythm are shared, but the decisions are different. Live Sound trains feedback, gain structure, monitors, venue acoustics, show calls, and systems. Studio Mix focuses on mixing recorded material in the box.

I'm a beginner. Is this for me?

Yes. White belt begins with vocabulary, signal flow, feedback bands, basic gain, and the order of a soundcheck. Advanced systems material waits higher in the ladder.

I only run sound for my own band. Is this overkill?

No. The early path is built around the next small-room gig: soundcheck order, gain, feedback, monitors, and a set with no soundcheck. Touring and systems material appears later rather than being treated as week-one knowledge.

What can this school not teach from a screen?

It cannot provide a load-in, muscle memory on your exact console, the feel of a specific room, or the human conversation during a show. It can train signal flow, frequency, gain structure, coverage reasoning, arithmetic, and decision order so you arrive better prepared. Rigging and anything suspended over people require qualified, supervised field training.

Will this help me work toward touring or bigger venues?

The upper path practices transfer-function reading, system tuning, sub and line-array decisions, RF coordination, network-audio diagnosis, changeovers, broadcast feeds, and larger-show calls. That is preparation for the next tier, not a substitute for venue reps or console time.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Manage or cancel through Account; access continues according to the billing period shown on your confirmed plan receipt.

What does my subscription include?

Live Sound is part of the Studio system with Studio Mix and Lighting. The Studio plan unlocks all three. Everything adds Vocals, Songwriting, and Repertoire for six schools on one account and one belt path.
